Changes in the Law and how it affects you
In October 2005 the law changed. Previous fire safety legislation in Scotland has been replaced by the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. Click on the heading below for the full Act.
This change means that Fire Certificates will no longer be issued and employers will become solely responsible for fire safety within their workplace.It also highlights the importance of staff training so in the event of a fire staff will have the correct training so they can ensure a safe egress for all staff and visitors/ customers from the premises.
